Knowledge can be acquired from any age, state, condition or any person. Similarly, Laxman ji had received some knowledge from Ravana, which is considered an important key to success.
Ravana was Prakand Pandit, extremely learned and mighty. Along with this, Ravana also had the quality of being a skilled politician, mighty, extremely powerful. Along with this, Ravana had the knowledge of many scriptures. When Ravana was about to die, Lord Shriram asked Lakshmana to get knowledge related to life from Ravana.
Laxman ji was surprised to hear Ramji’s words and he asked the reason for this. Then Rajmi said – Ravana is a great scholar of policy, politics and power of this world. That’s why he can give you such education related to life which no one else can give. Obeying Ramji’s order, Laxman went near Ravana, but Ravana did not say anything. Then Ramji explained to Laxman that to get knowledge he always stays near the feet and not near the head. This time Lakshmanji stood near the feet of Ravana and started asking about the knowledge related to life. Then the things that Ravana told Laxman in his dying state are called the key to success in life.
Ravana gave these three knowledge to Laxman
- Importance of Time: Ravana said to Laxman, do not wait for the time to do any auspicious work. Complete it as soon as possible. Because we do not know when the last time of life will come. It is said that Ravana had laziness and he used to postpone his works waiting for another day, due to which they could not be completed.
- Do not consider anyone weak: Ravana told Laxman another thing and said, never make the mistake of considering your opponent and enemy as weak. Giving his own example, Ravana said, I made the mistake of considering Ramji’s army as weak, considering it to be an army of monkeys and bears, which proved fatal for me.
- Keep the secret a secret: Ravana gave the last lesson to Laxman and said, if there is any secret in life, it should always be kept secret. Because if that secret comes in front of everyone then it can be bad for life. Actually, the reason for this was that Ravana died only after the secret of Amritkund was revealed in his navel.
